THIS, TOO, SHALL PASS

This, too, shall pass —
 It cannot last forever;
  No matter what may be the hurt, the fear, the pain.
Trust in the Lord
 For He is near you ever;
  He takes each loss and turns it into gain.

This, too, shall pass,
 This trial that seems so heavy,
  This burden that you've been called to bear;
Give it to God;
  He will bear it with you —
   He knows what you're going through, for He's been there.

This, too, shall pass,
 For nothing stays the same;
  In this world there is but endless change.
Only God remains —
 He who never changes
  Can calm our every fear and help us bear the pain.
