I DON’T FOLLOW MEN

I don't follow men; they're just human like me —
They're weak and they're frail, for they're just men, you see,
Creatures of dust in a weak, earth-bound frame;
Good, bad or indifferent, they're still men, just the same.

No, I don't follow men in that sense of the word,
But I'll  walk with the man who follows the Lord.
I'll count him a friend and accept him as brother
If he stands on God's Word and preaches no other.

But the man who denies it God's Word says to shun,
To come out from among and be separate from,
And if the Word says it, that's what I must do,
For I believe every word of it, the whole Book, through and through.

Not that I'm perfect, for the Lord knows that I'm not,
But His blood has cleansed me from sin's darkest blot,
And I cannot deny Him nor compromise on His Word:
I must acknowledge the fact that Jesus is Lord!

No, I don't follow men, for they're just human like me,
But I count those as brothers whom Christ has set free,
Who acknowledge His Lordship and stand firm on His Word.
I walk with the man who follows the Lord!
