Let the Holy Spirit Work

Let the Holy Spirit work, for ‘tis He who builds the Church;
Blessed Comforter and Guide Who in each saint doth e’er abide.
Ours is but to sow the Seed And lend a hand to those in need.
When it comes to adding to God’s Church, Let the Holy Spirit work.

Preach the Gospel, tell the Story; Praise the Lord, give God the glory,
But when it comes to adding to God’s Church, Let the Holy Spirit work.
Tell of Jesus, crucified; That for all man’s sin He bled and died,
But when it comes to adding to God’s Church, Let the Holy Spirit work.

Tell the Story; make it plain That Jesus died and rose again,
But when it comes to adding to God’s Church, Let the Holy Spirit work.
Preach the Word; yes, make it plain That Jesus lives and will come again;
Your Christian duty do not shirk, But let the Holy Spirit work.

You may push and probe and plead and prod, But you’re just a man! You are not God!
Men’s hearts and minds you cannot search! Let the Holy Spirit work!
