There Is A Time To Just Be Still...
There is a time to just be still
And know that God is God,
A time to let Him speak to us,
Feel His presence, awed
By His glorious majesty
And by His awesome power;
To know He loves and cares for us,
Is with us every hour.
Sometimes when we come to Him
In an hour of prayer,
It may be best to silence keep,
Just know that He is there;
To meditate upon His Word,
Ponder what He's said,
Not speaking words that He might hear,
But to be silent, still, instead.
For "Be still, and know that I am God",
He has written in His Book;
And that command we ought to heed —
It bears a closer look.
Perhaps in prayer we talk too much,
Concerned with our petition,
When God would have us to be still,
To meditate and listen.
