Have you considered the Bible,
That Book so precious and rare,
That tried and true Word of the living God
That tells of His love and His care?
Have you considered the Bible
And what a great Treasure we have
In this Book breathed of God to men long ago
That tells of His power to save?
Have you considered the Bible?
Have you read about God's blessed Son —
How He died on a cruel Roman cross for you —
That victory over death has been won?
Have you consdiered the Bible,
And the trials and tribulations it took
And how many have died cruel, horrible deaths
That you might read this great Book?
Have you considered the Bible,
And how it has been passed down to us
Through the devotion and courage of great men of God
Like Wycliff, Savanarola, and Huss?
Have you considered the Bible?
Have you read in its pages so fair
Of the marvellous grace of God to man
That Martin Luther found written there?
Have you considered the Bible?
On God's Holy Word do you stand,
Like Zwingle and Calvin and men of like faith,
Held firm in God's life-giving hand?
Have you considered the Bible?
Are its words to you plain and real?
Like Whitfield and Wesley and Spurgeon,
Does it impart to your soul a deep zeal?
Have you considered the Bible?
'Tis God's Word that shall not pass away!
It firmly shall stand through the ages
'Til the dawn of God's Great Judgment Day.
