It Could Be Here

It could be here, and soon it may,
That it becomes a crime to pray
Or assemble as we are today.
It could be here.

It could be here that soldiers stand,
By an evil government’s command,
And forbid to preach salvation’s plan.
It could be here.

It could be here that Christians weep
For those who sleep death’s silent sleep
And quiet vigils in secret keep.
It could be here.

It could be here that Christians die
For not endorsing Satan’s lie,
Where mothers weep and children cry.
It could be here.

It could be here, and may be soon,
In this or other darkened room,
That Christians gather in the gloom.
It could be here.

Yes, it could be here, and soon it may,
That it becomes a crime to pray
Or assemble as we are today.
It could be here.
